Friends of the Filipino People

1. Oppose US Militarization through the Visiting Forces Agreement and other agreements under the 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty that enable the US military to use the Philippines as a “Springboard of Intervention”, conducting joint military exercises using the Philippines as staging area to project military forces to the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region.

2. Protest and expose human rights violations, torture, death squads, and “disappearances” of Philippine activists, religious, peasant, and labor leaders, journalists, and members of oppositions groups.

3. End the exploitation of Philippine labor, unequal trade agreements, and global domination of the Philippine economy.

4. Stop environmental destruction and toxic contamination of Philippine natural resources by the US military, logging companies, and multinational corporations, and unfair trade agreements and practices.

5. Oppose all US wars and military interventions.
